Terms of Service

These terms cover the greyBot Discord app, operated by Ryan Grey. Adding greyBot to a Discord server, or using its commands, means accepting them.
What greyBot does
greyBot announces a World of Warcraft guild's first Heroic kill of each raid
boss, announces Ahead of the Curve when a tier is cleared, posts an optional summary of
a raid night, and answers a /progress command with the guild's current
standing. It derives all of this from public raid logs and public guild profiles.
Its optional server control service provides administrator access to server history,
moderation, welcome and departure posts, verification and member role buttons.
It is free, and provided as is
greyBot costs nothing and carries no warranty. It is a personal project run on a small budget, not a commercial service. It may be unavailable, may miss an announcement, may announce something late, and may be discontinued at any time without notice. To the extent the law allows, the operator accepts no liability for any loss arising from its use or unavailability.
What it depends on
greyBot reads from Warcraft Logs, Raider.IO and Blizzard's public game data API. If any of those is unavailable, changes, or stops permitting this use, greyBot may stop working, in whole or in part. Guild data that is private to those services is invisible to greyBot, and it cannot announce what it cannot see.
Acceptable use
- Add greyBot only to servers you are authorised to manage.
- Do not attempt to disrupt it, overload it, or use it to send unsolicited messages.
- Do not use it in any way that breaks the Discord Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, which apply alongside these terms.
Accuracy
greyBot reports what its sources report. Raid logs can be incomplete, tagged wrongly, or filed late, and progress data can lag behind a kill by hours. Announcements are best-effort statements about public data, not authoritative records, and they should not be treated as proof of anything.
Stopping
Remove the greyBot application and bot from the server to stop its server access. Deleting a legacy webhook does not stop the current bot application. No notice is needed and nothing is owed. To have a guild's stored data deleted as well, see the Privacy Policy.
Data
What greyBot stores, and what it deliberately does not, is set out in full in the Privacy Policy, including public raid data and the server records used by enabled administration features.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use greyBot after a change means accepting the revised terms.
